Stelios: Mobile phones next
Serial entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou has announced plans for his latest venture: EasyMobile. The Daily Telegraph reports that Stelios’ partner firm, the mobile operator TDC, has secured a deal with T-Mobile. According to the newspaper, T-Mobile will sell airtime to TDC for EasyMobile, which will sell pre-paid SIM-cards on the internet. The founder of EasyJet is quoted as saying: “The Easy Group is set to grow yet another market with good value to consumers. Easy Mobile will offer good value second-generation voice and SMS services to customers who are not generally profitable for the established network operators.” A spokesman for TDC added: “The concept focuses on lean operations, no high street shops and limited marketing budgets.” Report by Tim Gillett, News From Abroad Ltd
