STENA LINE JOINS FAREBASE PORTAL
Stena Line has become the first ferry company to join the Farebase Portal and be a Farebase Partner. Travel Agents will now be able to book Stena Line ferry crossings direct from the Portal. They will, of course, still receive their usual commission and in addition will be able to take advantage of any special incentives offered by Farebase. Bookings will be executed using the Aferry.to system supplied by Entee Global Services.
Jon Constantine, Managing Director of Farebase commented “This is an important continuation of our strategy to make the Farebase Portal a complete booking portal for travel agents to meet all their clients’ requirements. The addition of ferry companies to the portal will provide another invaluable tool for the independent agent to compete on a level playing field with larger companies”.
The booking system will be fully operational from 1st December and Stena Line’s Head of Sales GB, Wendy Hartley, said “We are very committed to providing travel agents with online booking facilities. We regard our partnership with Farebase as an important step. The portal provides agents with a great service and allows them to make Stena Line bookings quickly and easily from one screen.”
Nick Rowley from Entee Global Services, who provide the Aferry.to system, added “Entee provide the GDS systems allowing travel agents to book ferries anywhere in the world. Our strategic alliance with Farebase is significant and again gives agents a real-time gateway for booking ferries for their customers.”
Wendy Hartley from Stena Line concluded “We already work with Entee Global Services for our own online booking service, so the partnership with Farebase was an excellent opportunity to extend our commitment to offering travel agents additional online booking facilities.”
