Strike resumes at Frankfurt airport
Flight cancellations will continue for most of the week as air traffic controllers at Frankfurt airport announce further strikes.
The recent strike, which begun yesterday at 9pm, will run until Thursday morning.
Disruptions at the airport have continued since a walkout on 16 February after the GdF union failed to reach a wage agreement for the workers with airport operator Fraport, see previous story.
Lufthansa said that only a minimum of flights were cancelled on Sunday although it was forced to cancel around 70 European and domestic round trips today.
The German airline said it expects to operate all long haul this week as scheduled.
Its website said: "Lufthansa regrets any inconvenience caused to passengers by the strike measures of GdF union against the airport operator Fraport and will do its utmost to minimise the impact on passengers and operations in Frankfurt. "
British Airways has also cancelled some services to Frankfurt and passengers are advised to contact airlines.
