Study turns up summer travel trends
Most US travelers will be going somewhere this summer and many are increasingly looking at going abroad, a new study found.
The Site59 study showed that almost 90% of those surveyed planned to take a leisure vacation sometime this summer.
Almost 20% said they wanted to travel abroad, while 38% planned to visit the beach and another 17% were headed for the mountains. Fourteen percent said they would visit big cities.
Most travelers, or 95%, have yet to make definite plans; half said they would likely book within one month of departure.
The assumption might be they are all waiting for the best deal. But the survey found that was their second motivation, behind “waiting to be inspired,” according to the survey
In one revealing finding, 12% of travelers said they would never go to the same place twice.
