Passenger attempts suicide on Bangkok-London flight
A London-bound flight had a medical emergency just minutes before making its descent due to a suspected suicide attempt by a passenger onboard.
As the EVA Air flight from Bangkok began its descent, cabin crew were alerted to a passenger in the toilet.
The unnamed passenger was assisted by crew and an off-duty paramedic who suspected a passenger suicide attempt.
The flight landed safely at London Heathrow.
Very few details have been disclosed about the incident, or the passenger’s current condition.
Crew members and the paramedic provided first-aid including CPR to the passenger.
The airline confirmed the incident had taken place.
“With the assistance of EVA Air’s flight attendants and a medically qualified passenger on board, the affected passenger was immediately given first aid treatment,” it said.
