Supply chain issues force IndiGo to ground 30 jets
Supply chain disruptions are hitting India’s biggest airline IndiGo hard.
Parent company Interglobe Aviation Ltd says the airline has grounded 30 aircraft.
“While it is our immediate priority to deploy adequate capacity to serve our customers, we are actively engaged with our original equipment manufacturer partners to work on mitigation measures that should ensure the continuity of our network and operations,” the company said.
“As we work on various cost-efficient countermeasures, the endeavour is to minimise the economic impact resulting from this global disruption.”
IndiGo recently posted a bigger than expected loss for the second quarter, which was partly due to supply chain issues.
The airline is exploring slowing down deliveries with possible lease extensions and wet leasing.
