Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre receives recognition in Asia Pacific
The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre has been voted the fifth best purpose built centre in Asia – and the best in Australia – by readers of the leading international business events publication, CEI Asia Pacific.
The only other Australian convention centre to appear in the top ten list was the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, which was ranked tenth.
The results are contained in CEI’s 2007 Industry Survey, released this month.
Centre Chief Executive Ton van Amerongen said the ranking was an excellent result given the magazine’s international readership and the extensive competition Sydney faced from scores of convention centres throughout the Asia Pacific region.
“Every year the Centre welcomes thousands of delegates from Asia to dozens of international conventions, exhibitions and events, so it’s great to see our position in the region, and our performance, recognised in this way.”
More than 300 industry buyers participated in the survey.
