Sydney shark attack victim identified as British man
The victim of Sydney’s first deadly shark attack in more than half a century has-been identified. A friend confirmed that British citizen Simon Nellist 35, died in the attack.
Nellist, a diving instructor was attacked by a great white shark near Little Bay in East Sydney. Nearly all city beaches were closed after the incident. A search for the shark is still continuing.
Shark attacks near city beaches are rare because Sydney has set up various deterrents such as nets.
