Tailor-made operator’s new Dolphin technology “cuts the time taken to manage complex itineraries in half”

Specialist tour operator, Italian Journeys, has significantly reduced booking-related overheads associated with its tailor-made travel service after implementing the Dolphin selling and management solution.

The London-based independent travel company offers a range of tailor-made travel services including honeymoons, anniversaries and other special tailor-made holidays throughout Italy. Its bespoke itineraries can frequently include more than 20 travel segments; including flights, accommodation, car-rental, rail as well as chauffer driven transfers and private special experience tours.

Dolphin Dynamics says the component-based design of its solution makes it particularly well-suited to the booking flexibility required by the tailor-made sector. And helps specialist operators maximise margins through greatly increased operational efficiency.

Comprising reservation and product database modules, Dolphin enables operators to efficiently manage and sell their own directly contracted products in conjunction with dynamic inventory sources – including GDSs, low-cost airlines and XML connected suppliers. And leverages a market-proven mid/back-office solution which streamlines fulfillment, reporting, CRM and travel accounting functions – an area not always handled in a sophisticated manner by traditional tour operator technology products.
