Taiwan dropping hotel quarantine
Taiwan recently announced it is joining Hong Kong in ditching hotel quarantine.
It will end the three-day hotel quarantine requirement next month for all arrivals as part of a gradual easing of curbs.
Changes are expected to take effect on October 13.
From next week, a negative PCR test result is no longer be required, cabinet spokesman Lo Ping-cheng said.
The weekly cap on arrivals would be increased to 150,000, and the mask mandate may be gradually lifted in the coming weeks.
Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare Victor Wang said if daily Covd-19 cases risee again the quarantine requirement might be reinstated.
Taiwan will resume its visa-free program for limited countries on September 29.
