TAT update on re-opening of Bangkok hotels
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has listed the hotels that have either re-opened or are about to re-open after their forced closure during Bangkok’s recent political upheaval.
The following hotels have reopened: Amari Watergate, Eastin Hotel, First Hotel, Asia Hotel Bangkok, Novotel Bangkok, Pathumwan Princess, Siam City Hotel, Siam@Siam, Vie Hotel, Dusit Thani Bangkok, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Holiday Inn, Siam Intercontinental and Arnoma Hotel 2.
The Indra hotel will reopen June 1 while the Century Park Hotel has yet to confirm its re-opening date.
With the exception of Zen, CentralWorld, Isetan and Big C Rajdamri, all other department stores and shopping malls in Bangkok and around Thailand have not been affected.
The curfew time in Bangkok time has been adjusted to 23.00 hrs – 04.00 hrs. A decision on whether to extend the curfew will be made on a day-by-day basis.
The curfew in Pattaya has been lifted.
TAT continues to advise visitors and tourists to be vigilant, follow news developments, exercise extra caution and avoid areas covered by the declaration of a severe emergency situation in the areas of Bangkok and several provinces.
TAT recommends that foreign tourists and visitors to Thailand call the 24-hour Tourist Police Hotline — 1155 — for tourist assistance and the latest updates on roads to avoid.
