Technology professionals and academics to meet at Enter
The Enter conference, which brings together academics with industry executives and consultants, will take place in Austria at the beginning of next year.
The conference, now in its 12th year, is organised by the International Federation for IT and Travel and Tourism (IFITT). It is being held in Innsbruck, Austria on January 28-28 2005. Enter explores all areas of e-business in travel and tourism with the aim of allowing delegates to discuss and explore new business practices.
The organisers hope to attract over 400 delegates to the event.
Georg Lamp, chief executive of Congress Innsbruck, and organiser of Enter 2005, told TravelMole: “Enter comes back to Innsbruck every third year, and we are happy to host this conference because we continue to see an increase in the number of registrations.
“The conference programme provides more overlapping workshops and keynote speeches that allows both the executives and researchers to profit from one another.”
The speaker list is expected to be available from September, but will include representatives from Google and Sabre. The chairman is Hannes Werthner, professor for e-commerce and computer sciences at the University of Trento in Italy.
Running alongside the event is an exhibition that will feature technology products and services. Likely exhibitors include destination management and marketing organisations, tourism and government organisations, reservation and distribution system operators, IT suppliers technology consultancies.
Delegate fees vary from E165 for students to E660 for professionals, and can be less for IFITT members. It is also cheaper to register before November 18. For more details go to www.ifitt.org/enter.
