Technology will pick up on agents’ mistakes
Comtec has developed a system to automatically identify discrepancies in bookings between agency and operator systems.
The Booking Match and Reconcile product checks holiday details passed to agency management systems with the corresponding data held on the Viewdata reservation system of 55 operators. If there is a difference between the two a report is produced.
Comtec claims the technology will eliminate the operator cancellation charges made when incorrect booking details are recorded. It will be available in January or February 2003.
Booking Match and Reconcile uses technology from EasySell, the search and booking system. It is availabel as an add-on to the agency management system, TravelCat, or as a seperate interface to integrate into other systems.
Comtec group chief executive, Simon Powell said: “The annual cost to an agency of resolving discrepancies between holiday data held on their own and tour operator systems is massive. Booking Match and Reconcile solves this by identifying differences and makes it easy to rectify errors at an early stage of the process.”
