Teen killed by stray bullet in hotel room
A 13-year old boy was shot in the back of the head by a gun belonging to a hotel guest in an adjacent room.
Nathan Clark, 13, was staying at a Comfort Suites hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina, when he was shot dead in an apparent tragic accident.
According to investigators, the gun accidently went off and passed through a dividing wall where it struck the boy.
Randall Vater was charged with possession of a gun by a convicted felon and involuntary manslaughter.
Nathan was in Raleigh to play in the Capital Area Soccer League and other members of his team were also staying in the hotel.
"We can confirm this tragic event took place in our hotel and our thoughts and prayers go out to the Clark family. While an arrest has been made, at this time the police are still investigating and we are cooperating fully with the authorities," hotel management said in a statement.
