Teletext Holidays appoints new chairman
Teletext Holidays has appointed a new chairman as part of its target for growth.
Chris Letcher , who has been working alongside managing director Victoria Sanders as a consultant for six months, will also become a shareholder in the business.
He has acquired a stake from parent company A&N Media, consumer division of Daily Mail & General Trust.
Victoria Sanders, managing director, Teletext Holidays, said: “We have ambitious targets for growth and his investment and direction will help to drive the business forward over the next few years.”
Chris Letcher said: “I see huge potential in Teletext Holidays particularly given its strength as an online player and as television technology moves rapidly to a new future.
"The focus will be on creating market leading digital distribution platforms and working with our travel partners to ensure we deliver the best holiday deals in the market.”
Until 2008 Chris Letcher was group managing director for Hobsons plc, which he built from a publishing business for the education sector into a technology business to support schools, colleges and universities.
As well as being an investor in organisations including Secret Escapes, Boom Media
and Get Me Media, he has remained with DMGT in a consultancy role for the last three
years.
