Teletext targets domestic holidaymakers online
A dedicated UK breaks and attractions channel has been added to the teletextholidays.co.uk website as the company seeks to exploit the domestic holidays sector.
The move follows Teletext research which found that 34% of holidaymakers plan to stay in the UK this summer – a figure is expected to continue to rise.
The fully transactional ‘Stay In The UK’ channel enables users to book breaks at hotels, cottages and parks across the country.
It features more than 2,000 UK hotels, 9,400 cottages and links to holiday park providers including Butlins and Haven.
Visitors to the site can also book a range of attraction, theme park and theatre breaks with over 90 attractions, 23 theme parks and major West End shows available. Train, air and coach travel via partners such as National Express are also available.
Destination guides for the most popular UK locations are available, alongside a range of ‘Ten of the Best’ guides ranging from best activities for children, best beaches and best places to shop.
The launch marks the first phase of ‘Stay In The UK’, with further developments set to be unveiled on the site later this year.
Teletext Holidays managing director Matt Cheevers claimed: “No other site in the marketplace can offer customers such a wide range of UK based accommodation, travel and attractions as ‘Stay in the UK’.
“With an ever increasing number of people choosing to holiday in the UK we anticipate that the site will be a huge success, providing both advertisers and partners with a unique platform with which to reach one of the largest audiences in travel.”
