Tempo speaks the language in Spain

Friday, 10 Jan, 2008 0

Inspired by her university studies of Spanish, followed by a refresher course in Mexico, Tempo Holidays’ Spain and Portugal product manager, Naomi Beder has introduced Spanish language classes to the 2008-09 brochure.”

I was in Spain only in October, looking for a language course and finalising product for next year and was able to converse in the native language as I moved around the country, which was challenging and fun,” she said.

“But I have to confess that almost all the business negotiations were done in English!”

Ms Beder said there was growing demand within Tempo’s discerning traveller base for experience travel, including language classes, “so I was pleased that Tempo could take this very flexible course on board.”

The new Spain Portugal Morocco brochure expected later this month is Ms Beder’s fourth for Tempo.

The course is conducted on a weekly basis with 20 50-minute classes a week, plus five cultural classes. Classes can start any week of the year and travellers can do as many weeks as they like while they move from city to city – doing a week’s course in each as they explore Spain.

Ms Beder’s favourite school is in the university town of Salamanca, housed in a restored 16th century monastery near the historical university.

Class prices are $504 for one week, $831 for two weeks, $1159 for three weeks and $1487 for four weeks which can be booked with accompanying Tempo accommodation.

Prices include classes, enrolment fee, all relevant study material, unlimited internet access at the school and a certificate of attendance.
