This is new test. TravelMole.com undertook the survey in 2003 to establish the extent of travel agency use of the internet. The survey set out to discover the extent of internet use by agents, and most importantly, which levels of personnel had internet access at their place of work. The survey’s took the form~!@#$%^&*()”:{}+_?”: of an online questionnaire on travelmole.com. TravelMole subscribers were asked to take part, with the incentive of a prize draw for a bottle of champagne to one in every fifty respondents. The survey was launched proper in September 2003, and was re-built in late November for TravelMole’s new backoffice. The statistics, question by question Universe: 246. Those that selected it were included in England (south-west). N.B. 2 – At the same time it became apparent that respondents were only able to select one of the options in Q8. Those that took part via the new backoffice were telephoned between 29/12/03 and 31/12/03 to answer the question verbally. Where the respondent was absent, a colleague answered on their behalf where able to do so. This applied to 88 individual responses. N.B.3 – The survey was always intended for publication in the UK & European market. Therefore the large numbers of responses from the USA & Canada were not included in the results, although they were all entered for the prize draw. N.B.4 – Responses were included where not all questions had been answered, but it was ensured that each question would have at least 200 answers from valid responses, to make all findings statistically viable (to within +/-10%). N.B. 5 – All duplicate responses, ones from non-travel agents, and ones whose option selections were contradictory, were removed. The survey results cover the first 246 responses received, which were considered valid under all definitions above.
