Thai Lion Air has inked its first ever trade distribution agreement with Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific.

The deal will give 100,000 Sabre-connected travel agents in Asia Pacific access to the Thai Lion Air inventory of fares products.

"Bookings from Sabre-connected travel agents will help us to increase our frequency, while channelling demand for the new routes we have planned," said Aswin Yangkirativorn, Thai Lion Air chief executive officer.

"We are operating in a very competitive climate and appreciate that with Sabre, we have the opportunity to present the Thai Lion Air proposition in a way that differentiates our brand."

Thai Lion Air is based at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport, currently serving nine domestic and one international route, with plans to expand to more markets in Thailand an overseas.

"We look forward to supporting Thai Lion Air, a tactical carrier targeting very specific growth markets, as it develops its regional network and commercial model. We are confident that Thai Lion Air will quickly realise the benefit of providing access to its inventory via the leading Sabre channel," said Hans Belle, Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific vice president for supplier commerce and strategic partnerships.
