Thailand looks to relax entry protocols for tourists
Thailand plans to streamline entry for foreign arrivals to keep its tourism recovery on track. It will consider scrapping the pre-arrival Covid test requirement for vaccinated tourists. The minimum medical insurance could also be lowered to $10,000.
These measures were proposed by the Health Ministry Thailand and will be considered by the Covid task force this week. Travellers would still have to take a PCR test on arrival and a self-administered rapid antigen test on day five.
It comes as key source market Russia has suffered a sharp decline since the Ukraine invasion.
