THE CHAIRMAN’S CLUB – AUSTRALIA’S NEWEST AND MOST EXCITING CORPORATE HOSPITALITY PROGRAMME

Mike Hays and John Alwyn-Jones, Directors of the newly formed The Chairman’s Club today announced their inaugural programme, The Chairman’s Rugby Club Southern Aurora Express traveling in style from Sydney to Melbourne, for the classic battle of the giants, Australia’s Qantas Wallabies v England at Telstra Dome on the weekend of June 16/17/18, 2006.

The Chairman’s Rugby Club Southern Aurora Express will be hosted by The Hon Tim Fischer, former Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Tourism Australia, who said, “this is an amazing initiative and I really appreciate the opportunity of being involved’.  “I will do whatever I can to help bring it about and what could be better than classic rail travel, great food and company and of course rugby!”

Ron Graham, Chairman of the Australian Rugby Union also offered his fullest support to The Chairman’s’ Club and said, “well done to Mike and John for coming up with a concept that is so different and yet so special, it has my fullest support”.

Bruce Mansfield – Senior Vice President VISA also expressed his support for the programme, saying, “The Chairman’s Club is a very innovative concept indeed and I look forward to seeing its success”.

Friday 16 June

The weekend programme will commence with check in, cocktails and entertainment on the Friday evening, 16 June on the platform at Central Station Sydney and on the train, followed by a gourmet dinner on the train with entertainment and brief speeches of welcome from our hosts, as The Chairman’s Rugby Club Southern Aurora Express departs for Melbourne across the New South Wales countryside.

Saturday 17 June

A full cooked breakfast will be served as The Chairman’s Rugby Club Southern Aurora Express travels through the Victorian countryside, before arriving in Melbourne’s classic Spencer Street Station mid morning on Saturday 17 June, allowing the remainder of the day before the game for shopping and sightseeing.

Special corporate hospitality, including a full dinner, drinks and wine, guest speakers, meeting leading Wallabies players, etc and prime seating at the game, have been arranged at Telstra Stadium in the Victory Room, with the official function starting at 5:30pm, kick off at 8:00pm and ending at 11:30pm, prior to rejoining The Chairman’s Rugby Club Southern Aurora Express for a nightcap.

Sunday 18 June

While The Chairman’s Rugby Club Southern Aurora Express guests snooze on, The Chairman’s Rugby Club Southern Aurora Express will make an early morning departure to Wagga Wagga for a sumptuous breakfast, winery and cheese factory visit, before rejoining The Chairman’s Rugby Club Southern Aurora Express in time for lunch and a relaxing Sunday afternoon crossing the New South Wales countryside, followed by dinner and arrival in Sydney’s Central Station by 9:00pm on Sunday 18 June, in plenty of time to return home, fully energised and refreshed for the start of the working week.

Included:The full weekend programme includes the above, all travel, entertainment, speakers, food, Telstra Dome Corporate Hospitality, premium match seat tickets and any transfers.

Drinks: The pre-departure Cocktail Reception, drinks and wine at the match at Telstra Dome are included, but wine and drinks on the train are not included.  A bar and wine list is available to preview and a bar account payable by credit card prior to arrival in Sydney can be opened for the weekend.
