The plane now landing at LGW

AirAsia X is scheduled to land at London Gatwick airport this week after switching its operations from London Stansted airport.

The long haul, low-cost carrier will fly from Kuala Lumpur Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) to Gatwick Airport with three flights weekly until the end of November, increasing frequency up to five or six flights weekly from December till March 2012.

Head of Commercial AirAsia X, Darren Wright said, “We believe that our move into Gatwick Airport will help this route grow as we are now providing guests with greater choices for connectivity such as better and faster rail and bus connections into London, Europe and beyond via Gatwick Airport.”

AirAsia X is offering deals to mark the new route, starting at RM 689 (£151) from Kuala Lumpur to London.

Premium Fly Flat bed seats from Kuala Lumpur to London are being offered from RM 3,389 (£743) one-way.

Fly Thru deals are available for travellers to London from Australia, New Zealand, China and Taiwan.

Deals can be booked until October 30 with a travel period from January 10 – March 31, 2012.
