The Tiger gets right amongst the pigeons
Tiger Airways says that Australia got its first true low fare airline today with Tiger Airways taking to the sky to from Melbourne to Gold Coast, Rockhampton and MacKay today.
Tony Davis CEO of Tiger Airways said, “We are absolutely delighted by the response we have had to Tiger’s entry to the Australian domestic market with many of the flights already sold out.” “We knew that Australia has been starved of competition for too long but even we have been surprised by the amazing appetite Australian’s have for the real deal when it comes to flying.”
To celebrate the launch of Tiger Airways domestic services, more than 75,000 seats are now on sale from $19.95.
This is one of the largest low fare bonanzas that Australia has ever experienced, signalling the start of more low fare travel to come from Tiger Airways. The following routes are available for sale only for one day, 23 November 2007, only until seats sell out.
** Melbourne – Hobart from $19.95
** Melbourne – Adelaide from $19.95
** Melbourne – Newcastle from $19.95
** Melbourne – Gold Coast from $19.95
** Melbourne – Mackay from $19.95
** Melbourne – Rockhampton from $19.95
Fares are valid for travel between 1 February to 24 October 2008
