Theme park worker attacked in mask dispute
A couple are being sought by police after a young theme park worker was seriously assaulted for asking them to wear a mask.
The 17-year-old worker told the couple they were required to wear masks at Sesame Place, Pennsylvania.
He then encountered them several hours later in the park and once again reminded them to comply with the park’s mask policy.
They became belligerent and the male then punched the worker in the face outside the Captain Cookie’s High C’s Adventure ride, police said.
The couple then fled with park security guards giving chase.
The teen suffered injuries to his jaw that required surgery.
"A guest assaulted and seriously injured one of our team members. We’ve been in close communication with the family of our injured team member, and are hoping for a full and speedy recovery," park management said.
"The health and safety of our guests and team members is our top priority, and violence of any kind is unacceptable."
The couple were seen driving away in a New York registered vehicle and local police are working with New York counterparts to trace the couple.
