Thursday, 28 Aug, 2008 0

Major consolidation of leisure airlines in Germany could be on the cards.

Thomas Cook Group is in early discussions with Lufthansa and TUI Travel about a potential merger of Condor, Germanwings and TUIFly Germany.

No commercial terms have been agreed, said Thomas Cook.

“There is no certainty that any transaction will result and a further announcement will be made if and when appropriate,” a statement said today.

Thomas Cook previously abandoned plans to pair up Condor with Air Berlin.
