Thomas Cook India launches travel packages for seniors

Sunday, 28 Dec, 2014 0

Thomas Cook India is looking to tap into the growing ‘silver’ economy with the launch of dedicated travel packages for senior citizens.

Specialised Silver Breaks will offer itineraries featuring special dietary needs, medical assistance, handpicked hotels catering to seniors, and adapted tour vehicles.

Itineraries will include the Golden Triangle and Kerala, and Thailand, Italy and the UK for outbound trips.

Thomas Cook India has partnered with NGO the Dignity Foundation to create customised products for its Silver Breaks packages.

"At Thomas Cook India, we continue our tradition of innovation by introducing a product line for a largely subserviced segment. The potential outbound senior citizens market is poised to grow rapidly from 1.3 million to over 7.3 million in the next 15 years, and our expectation that the domestic senior citizen traveller opportunity will also grow by at least the same," said Rajeev D. Kale, chief operating officer – MICE, Domestic & Sports Tourism at Thomas Cook India.

The holiday packages will cater exclusively for travellers over 58 years of age and will be fully inclusive covering airfare, all meals, hotel accommodation, sightseeing tours and assistance throughout.
