Thomas Cook rep collapses and dies in resort
A 20-year-old holiday firm worker has reportedly collapsed and died during a game of water polo between guests and reps. According to the Daily Mail, Amy Russell, who had been working for Thomas Cook, died as she scored the winning goal during the game on the island of Fuerteventura. The newspaper reports that Amy, who was spending her first season in resort, had been looking after children between the ages of five and 14 on the day she died. The group has now reportedly sent a card to Amy’s parents, while her colleagues have staged a special show as a tribute. Her parents issued the following statement: “We have been sent letters from guests in Spain saying how wonderful she was. She was a very special girl – the perfect daughter.” Report by Tim Gillett, News From Abroad Ltd
