Thomas Cook swaps brochures for new technology
Thomas Cook has cut its brochure run by a quarter with the use of smartphone codes, online video clips and its virtual brochure store.
The tour operator has just launched its summer 2013 brochures with holiday guides in DVD format available on the front of the most popular of the 20 strong brochures.
Innovative apps for iPhones, iPads and Android devices have also been developed to make browsing and booking on-the-move easier.
Chris Young, director of UK content and publishing at Thomas Cook said; "Brochures still play an essential role in the holiday booking process for many, and we’ve got 20 great new editions to assist with this.
"At the same time, by introducing the new brochure technologies, we’ve been able to reduce our brochure print run by almost a quarter."
To mark 2013 summer holidays going on sale, Thomas Cook has pledged to freeze some holidays at 2012 prices and offer "Kids for a Quid" on others.
