Thomson and First Choice on recruitment trail
Thomson and First Choice have announced plans to hire 130 new apprentices this year.
The travel firms say they have trained in excess of 7,000 apprentices aged 16 or over during the past 25 years, recruiting through job centres, schools and colleges.
Over the next 25 years, they expect the total number of completed apprenticeships to reach the 15,000 milestone.
HR director for TUI UK & Ireland, Caroline Kitcher said: "Many apprentices are often at assistant manager level in one of our retail shops by the time of apprenticeship completion. As well as gaining a recognised travel qualification, the skills that our apprentices learn are vital both in the workplace and in life."
Travelodge confirmed it will hire 80 new apprentices to join its existing apprenticeship programme this year.
