Thomson Cruises responds to Primark comparison
Thomson Cruises has responded to a survey published this week in which consumers likened it to high street retailer Primark
The survey asked consumers to say which high street brand they associated with each of the major cruise brands.
While its rivals were associated with the likes of John Lewis and Debenhams, Thomson was considered “mass market†like Primark and NCL was likened to Tesco.
Thomson Cruises managing director David Selby said Thomson had entered the cruise industry to make it more affordable and accessible.
“That’s still the case today,” he said. “I’m sure other cruise lines that have more elitist pretensions will be more concerned with their comparisons than we are with ours.”
