Thomson hits Facebook milestone
Thomson’s dedicated Facebook page has passed the ‘half a million fans’ milestone.
The travel giant claims the page, set up in 2011, now has almost double the amount of fans as other holiday companies.
Thomas Cook’s Facebook page, for example, had just under 240,000 fans at the time this story was published.
Thomson said that between August and September this year, over nine million people saw activity from the Thomson page.
The content received over 81,000 likes, 12,000 comments and 3,500 shares.
It said 97% of fans live in the UK "making the page one of the most relevant and engaging Facebook fan pages in the travel and leisure industry".
"As a business, modernisation is at the heart of our strategy and it is imperative that we make our online channels as engaging and as interactive as possible," said marketing and digital director Jeremy Ellis.
"Our social media, online marketing and content teams have worked incredibly hard alongside our award winning social customer service team to ensure they provide the best content and service to all our Facebook fans."
The page is manned 24/7 by a team of social customer service advisors.
