Thomson to install travel pods in shopping centres
Thomson will launch new portable travel ‘pods’ in shopping centres in March.
The portable travel kiosk will have internet access and is expected to interest customers who are looking for a last minute break or those who want to browse.
Consultants will be on hand to help shoppers with their research.
Taking up less than 3 meters square, the pods are designed to appeal to both Thomson’s traditional customers as well as people who might not be aware of all the holidays Thomson sells, particularly low cost flights and DIY holidays.
Thomson sales director Derek Jones said: “Not everybody is able to use the internet in their jobs or at home, so these Thomson travel pods will help them organise their travel plans and take advantage of some great offers.
“The kiosks are very versatile and can be installed virtually
anywhere they might be needed.”
Plans are also under way to use the pods at exhibitions, such as wedding fayres, to encourage further bookings.
