Thomsonfly expands from Cardiff
Thomsonfly is to launch low fare flights from Cardiff to Barcelona next summer.
The airline will run four flights a week with prices starting at £22.99 one-way including taxes.
The carrier will operate seven services from Cardiff next summer to Barcelona, Faro, Jersey, Alicante, Malaga, Palma and Ibiza
Barcelona is the first major Spanish city to be linked by a direct air service to Cardiff.
Thomsonfly commercial director Guy Stephenson said: “The introduction of flights between Cardiff and Barcelona is a very exciting milestone for both Cardiff and Thomsonfly; this is the first time a major new international route has been launched from Cardiff Airport with the support of the Welsh Assembly.
“Thomsonfly will continue to work closely with Cardiff Airport and the Welsh Assembly on opportunities for further route development.”
