Thousands of Russian airport staff trained in ‘the Olympics
Thousands of Russian airport staff have been put through special ‘Olympic’ training ahead of the Winter games.
1,400 staff working at the check-in desks, security checkpoints and information counters at Sochi International Airport have undergone Olympic hospitality training, claims airport management firm, Basel Aero.
While more than 250 people have passed courses on the history and principles of Olympic movement held by the Sochi-2014 Organizing Committee.
65 airport specialists as well as employees of Russian leading airlines, Transaero and Aeroflot, have completed disability awareness training.
Overall, more than 2,500 people working in Sochi International Airport have completed the training including the 1620-strong airport’s staff, 950 employees from other Russian airports and air carriers as well as aviation cadets.
The Winter Olympics start on Friday, February 7.
