Thousands raised for family of British boy killed in Tenerife
A crowdfunding appeal to raise money for the family of a 10-year-old boy killed while on an Easter holiday in Tenerife has raised more than £11,000.
Family friend Charlene Dinnen set up the Just Giving page with the aim of raising £3,000 to help Carter Carson’s family with expenses following the tragedy, which happened in the resort of Adeje in the south of the island.
Carson, who was on holiday with his dad Stuart and his partner Clair, was allegedly knocked down in a hit-and-run while leaving a shopping centre.
He was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to the university hospital in the island’s capital Santa Cruz, but he died from his injuries on Friday.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the accident. The Foreign Office said it was assisting the family, who come from Newtownabbey in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
