Three Irish services for EasyJet
EasyJet is to launch three services to Ireland after stating that fares to Cork, Shannon and Knock are remaining “stubbornly high”.
The no-frills carrier will launch the three services in January, as well as flights to Almeria and Valencia is Spain, meaning that it will now have 29 services from the Sussex airport.
According to The Independent newspaper, EasyJet is claiming that Ryanair’s fares to the three Irish destinations are twice Ryanair’s average fate, and that the irish carrier is making a profit of 50 per cent on the three routes.
And, in a rather ironic twist, the newspaper reports that the three slots at Gatwick that EasyJet will be using, are the same slots that used to belong to Ryanair until last week.
