Three tourists shot dead in Afghanistan
Three tourists from Spain have been shot dead in central Afghanistan.
An Afghan was also killed, and four other foreigners, including an Australia, were wounded in the gun attack.
Spanish prime minister, Pedro Sánchez posted on social media he was ‘shocked by the news.’
It happened in the tourist area of Bamiyan.
Taliban interior ministry spokesperson, Abdul Mateen Qani said four suspects are in custody and an investigation is continuing.
The government ‘strongly condemns this crime and expresses its deep feelings to the families of the victims,’ Qani said.
Bamiyan is a mountainous area home to a UNESCO world heritage site.
The attack is thought to have possibly targeted foreign nationals although no group has claimed responsibility.
