TIA: travel business to be good this year
Leisure travel will be up 4% this year and international travel to the US will jump almost 8%, according to the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA).
At the same time, their Annual Travel Forecast foresees slow growth at the end of the year and the first quarter of next year.
“This is due to weak CEO confidence, much slower growth in corporate profits and rising travel costs,” said the report.
TIA forecast a 1% increase in business travel for 2005 and a 1.6% increase in 2006.
