Tiger doesn’t go near the bottom line

Thursday, 21 May, 2009 0

MELBOURNE – Tiger Airways has released a fourth quarter business report but has flown clear of including any profit – or loss – figures.

Tiger said it grew passenger numbers by 7.6 percent and added 11.4 percent more capacity in Q4 versus last year.

Two A319s and one A320 took the fleet to 16 aircraft located at three operating bases (10 aircraft in Singapore, four in Melbourne and two in Adelaide)

New routes launched in Q4 include Singapore – Jakarta and Singapore – Kota Kinabalu. Five new domestic Australian routes were launched as a new base became operational in Adelaide.

Average sector length decreased by 12.2 percent versus same period last year with additional access to short haul destinations in Malaysia

Load factor year-on-year performance was down by 2.7 points following significant increase in capacity

Full year passenger growth for the year was 42.4 percent at 3.2 million passengers.

As for those profit and loss figures, we’ll need to be patient, it seems.
