Tour bus stuck in sink hole
A French tour bus carrying 90 holidaymakers became trapped in a sinkhole in south-east London on Saturday.
The hole opened up when a water main burst underneath Lee High Road in Lewisham.
The rear wheels of the Mariot Voyages coach got stuck in the hole, forcing the police to declare a major incident.
London Fire Brigade assisted 40 passengers from the coach. They were understood to be French students, many of whom were on their first trip to London.
A report in the Evening Standard said local supermarkets gave free food to the tourists, who were forced to spend the night in a shelter.
