Tour de France comes to Canary Wharf

Friday, 13 Jun, 2013 0

Londoners will be able to enjoy the Tour de France experience from July 15 to 21.

The Fan Park, which will be set up in Canary Wharf during the Alpine stages of the race, will give them the opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of the Grande Boucle.

Tour fans will be able to watch the battle for the 100th edition rage on in the Alps while they relax on the banks of the Thames.

A giant screen will give everyone the opportunity to follow the stage of the day, and relive its highlights for those who missed the finish.

There will also be educational photo exhibitions as well as stalls showcasing French regional produce and – with an eye on the 2014 edition – a selection of Yorkshire specialties.

The London Fan Park will be set up in Wood Wharf, at the heart of Canary Wharf

There will be free entrance from July 15-21, from 10:30am to 10pm

The village will close later on the evening of July 21, the day of the evening finish on the Champs-Elysees.
