Tour packages are ‘fore’ it

Saturday, 14 Jun, 2005 0

Tour packagers in New Mexico are looking at a new source of promotion: golf courses.

The state has attracted several high profile courses in recent years.

Golf Links New Mexico is among golf tour packaging companies specializing in promoting the sport.

The company recently rolled out a $50,000 marketing campaign, said Golf Links President Robert Moore.

“We’ll do it by coordinating entire travel packages that include airfare, hotels, golf tee times, car rental and entertainment for golfers and non-golfers,” he said.

He said packages in New Mexico are priced below other popular golf states such as Arizona and Florida.
