Tourico Holidays touts big inbound growth in US hotel bookings

Wholesale broker Tourico Holidays has revealed big inbound growth in year-over-year US hotel bookings.

Tourico reports a 20% annual increase from Europe and 19% from the Asia market with the latter fuelled by a doubling of bookings from China.

"Brokering U.S. travel products is at the core of our business and it continues to account for a large portion of our global revenue," said Ellen Forrest, Vice President of USA Product Development for Tourico Holidays.

"As we continue to extend our reach and increase our presence in Europe and Asia, demand for our American hotel inventory continues to increase.  To adequately meet that demand, we’re contracting more domestic suppliers and ensuring we have the proper local support to assist our clients."

New York City remains the fastest growing market for inbound travelers with a jump of 32% for Manhattan hotels, and Brooklyn more than quadrupled during the last 12 months.

"The demand for US hotels remains strong and we’ve made it our mission to ensure we have outstanding inventory at preferred rates – regardless of whether you’re headed to Manhattan or the Grand Canyon," Forrest said.

Other markets showing rapid growth include Myrtle Beach and Phoenix with 96% and 81% respectively.

The company is exhibiting at the IPW travel trade event in New Orleans taking place from June 18-22.
