Tourism Australia seeks new top Executive
Tourism Australia has announced that they are seeking a successor for Michael Londregan who resigned recently and is believed to have returned to the USA to work for Stella Hotels.
Tourism Australia describes the General Manager International Western Hemisphere role as an outstanding opportunity for a tourism marketing professional and that based in Sydney and reporting directly to the Managing Director, the position has a crucial leadership role within the Executive team, embracing full responsibility for marketing in the Western hemisphere to drive global consistency in brand, trade relationships and measurement.
Managing on-the-ground teams in Auckland, London, Frankfurt and Los Angeles (and representatives in other locations), the role’s emphasis is on marketing implementation and promotions to achieve high recognition of “brand Australia” and real growth in tourist visitation, with the role appealing to a well rounded marketing executive with outstanding leadership ability and the capacity to build favourable relationships with key industry figures in the Western region.
They anticipate that the successful candidate will have depth of experience within one or more travel industry sectors (airlines, inbound travel, accommodation, tour operations, etc), have an understanding of the critical interrelationships in the industry, and most importantly, have a track record of success in destination marketing, in addition to the ability to lead culturally diverse teams, to apply business acumen and a performance orientation, and to recognise and capitalise on Australia’s competitive advantage as a tourist destination.
The role requires frequent travel and offers most attractive and competitive remuneration to appeal to the best people in the market.
