Tourism chiefs meet to discuss response to London Bridge terror attack
UK tourism chiefs have held an emergency meeting to discuss the potential impact of the latest terror attacks on the country’s £130 billion tourism industry.
The Tourism Industry Emergency Response (Tier), led by VisitBritain, is understood to have gathered on Monday evening following the terror attack at London Bridge, in which seven people died and a further 48 were injured.
Tier’s role is to develop plans for crisis scenarios and to manage the industry’s collective response to any specific event.
It last met following the terror attack in Westminster in March, according to City AM.
Members include ABTA, UKinbound, BHA, British Airways and the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions.
