Tourism Malaysia appoints new PR company in Australia
Tourism Malaysia has appointed specialist Sydney Public Affairs consultancy, S2i Communications, to plan and manage all public relations and marketing communications for the organisation throughout Australia.
The Director of Tourism Malaysia in Australia, Shahrin Mokhtar says the appointment is effective immediately and reflects the increasing importance of the growing Australian market to Malaysia.
“Communications will play an important role in building Tourism Malaysia’s growing presence in the important Australian market as our marketing requirements are now vastly broader and require an integrated approach across disparate editorial media,” says Shahrin.
S2i Communications is an integrated communications company with a strong travel industry background, offering a range of media-related skills – from public affairs to the internet, corporate relations, advertising, production, design, promotion and issues management.
The CEO of S2i Communications, Wayne Tregaskis, has an equally strong background in the media, airlines and marketing.
A former print and television journalist, Wayne spent a number of years with Qantas, all in senior communications roles within Public Affairs and Marketing.
He subsequently headed the Tourism portfolio in Sydney and Melbourne for Australia’s largest communications agency, George Patterson Bates, before moving to Australia’s most successful internet production company, HotHouse.
Wayne launched S2i Communications in 1999 and today the company boasts an impressive list of blue chip organisations as clients, especially in the travel, tourism, aviation, medical and strategic planning sectors.
