Tourism off the map in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is the latest place to take on MP3-compatible travel guides for tourists who want to get off the traditional path and download a soundtrack to improve their travels.
Ed Tettemer, president of Red Tettemer, the Center City travel agency for the state’s office of Tourism, Film and Economic Development, told the Philadelphia Business Journal:
“Soon, we envision podcasts that will include real stories from the most interesting regions of the commonwealth that will enrich your travels as you listen.”
MP3 files are being introduced increasingly as inexpensive alternatives to travel books and guides.
Pennsylvania officials say they hope this alternative technology helps them reach younger travelers. The move should also stretch their marketing dollars.
