Tourism Society event will have election focus
The Tourism Society is holding a special event next month to discuss the outcome of the General Election.
The Tourism Symposium, on June 1-2 in Kent, will focus on key tourism-related issues affected by the election result.
"Encouragingly, the major political parties have all made reference to tourism in their manifestos which suggests they have finally come round to recognising the importance of the industry to the UK’s economy," said Sandra Matthews-Marsh MBE, Tourism Society chairman.
She said a panel discussion on transport infrastructure, chaired by former government transport minister Steven Norris, will cover topics such as UK airport expansion and the development of HS1, including the newly-elected administration’s stance on these major issues.
Tickets to the two-day Symposium, with preferential rates available for accommodation and a free rail travel option, are now available.
