Tourists found dead in Las Vegas hotel room

Police are investigating a double homicide inside a hotel room on the Las Vegas strip.

A man and a woman were found stabbed to death in their guestroom at Circus Circus.

The Vietnamese couple were discovered after a welfare check as made when they were a no-show for a pre-arranged group trip to the Grand Canyon.

Lt. Ray Spencer of the Metropolitan Police Department said: "As a result of our initial processing of the room, we are able to confirm that it is definitely a double homicide. It’s an isolated incident in one room and there’s no threat to anybody in the hotel. Operations are going on as normal at the property."

Spencer said both suffered multiple stab wounds, and murder-suicide has been ruled out.

It is thought the couple were part of a larger group of Vietnamese tourists who were only staying in Vegas for two nights before returning to Los Angeles.

Lt. Spencer said the investigation had slowed due to an initial language barrier between the other tour companions and the police.

The couple were named as Nghia Boi Sang, director of Trieu Hao tour company, which is thought to have organised the trip, and Nguyen Le Ba Khuong, who also worked at the company.

The investigation is still ongoing with no suspects yet identified, and hotel owner MGM Resorts International said it is cooperating.
