Trade gets deal on Kempinksi Duke’s Palace Bruges
Luxury Bruges hotel Kempinski Duke’s Palace is offering a special trade rate of €179 a night for a superior room to celebrate National Belgium Day on July 21.
Travelmole checked out the 15th century palace in Belgium which has undergone a huge renovation and now offers out-and-out luxury for under £200 a night for trade bookings.
Suites and rooms have marble bathrooms and balconies from which you can see the fairytale medieval squares and cobbled courtyards of the city.
When the Mole checked in, the staff were coolly efficient and despite plenty of people milling around the desk, it was a matter of moments before guest registers had been signed and the Mole was being whisked towards a swish, beautifully decorated room.
- the genuine 15th century, ornate oak staircase that creaked authentically as guests walked down it, making them feel like the dukes and duchesses of Burgundy who once lived here.
- the breakfast in the Het Manuscript restaurant. Mole hasn’t eaten a better breakfast sausage in years and is sure there were some fruits on the buffet that haven’t yet made it to UK shores. Utterly delicious.
- the spa. Although Mole doesn’t like strangers rubbing its fur, a stream of very satisfied looking customers emerged looking very relaxed and no wonder, the spa area was gorgeously calm with a lovely little boutique swimming pool and an array of luxurious treatments on offer. No wonder online travel agent Expedia’s readers ranked it one of the best hotels in the world last month.
- The bathrooms. There’s nothing Mole likes better than wallowing in the bath using plush products and keeping up with travel industry contacts on the phone and the sumptuous bathrooms were so spacious Mole didn’t want to leave them.
